Mumbai Indians continues their winning run

MUMBAI: Mumbai Indians continues their victory run by defeating Rajasthan Royals in a closely fought encounter here in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai .

At one stage the match was heading for a very close finish with some tremendous hitting by Owais Shah and Meanria. Owais Shah scores 70 runs in just 40 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes.

But then pollard struck triple blows in singe over thus winning the game for Mumbai Indians. Rahane was the other top scorer from Royals making 40 runs in 31 balls. Pollard took 4 wickets while Malinga, who took the wicket of Shah, supported him well with 2 wickets for just 13 runs in his four overs.

Earlier, sent into bat by Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians started well. Rayudu with 47 runs and Pollard with 64 took them to a comfortable total of 197 runs. Singh and Hogg took two wickets each.

Dravid: “We thought we had a chance. We were under the pump a little bit. Little panic among the youngsters. There are positives.”

Harbhajan: “Malinga you can bring him any time. If Shah had batted three more overs the game would have finished. The dew was a problem, but when you have 197 on board, the opposition still has to keep the score moving.”

Man of the Match Pollard: “The team needed that impetus. Royals played really well, but we knew 10-11 runs every over would be difficult, fantastic atmosphere. You can say that (Mumbai my second home).”
