Devils crush Super King’s

NEW DELHI: Delhi daredevils crushed Chennai Super King’s in a one sided encounter Played at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Devils won the toss and invited Super King’s to bat first. Chennai lost first wicket on the very first ball and then lose their wickets consistently with none of their batsmen getting a decent score.

Most of them lost their wicket after getting their eye in. Four run outs only add to the problems of the team. Morkel took 2 wickets for 20 runs. Chennai was only able to set a modest target of 111 runs.

Devils started well and with some brilliant batting of V Sehwag, KP Pietersen and DPMD Jayawardene reached the target in just 13.2 overs with the lost of only two wickets.Ashwin bowled well with bowling analysis of 3.2-0-21-1.

Sehwag: “Bowlers started off really well upfront and the left arm spinners took off from there. We’ve international class which has been boosted by the return of KP and Mahela. As a result of that, I can play freely.”

Dhoni: “We posted a below par score. The wicket behaved well in the second half. We were looking to have a left and right hand combination but the run-outs never let us get that right. We have to be more consistent and look to play good cricket.”

Morne Morkel was the Man of the Match for his spell of 2 for 19 off his four overs.

Morne Morkel: “It was a home game for us and we got off to a good start. The groundsman have to be complimented for putting up a good wicket. I was under pressure to bowl to a power house of Chennai’s batting line-up.”
