Ladakh Cong Averse to Farooq Getting into Cabinet
PM Manmohan Singh might have tried to appease NC by assuring that senior party’s president Farooq Abdullah would be inducted in Cabinet when first expansion takes place, but Congress leadership in Ladakh is reportedly opposing the decision and has asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi not to reward Abdullah.
Irked with the role NC played in Ladakh, the Congress leadership in the region has described the Abdullah’s party as unreliable ally that has already deceived Congress.
“We have strong reservations against Farooq Abdullah’s induction into the Union cabinet,” Rigzin Spalbar, District Congress president Ladakh said. “We have already written letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi,” he said.
In its letter to the Central and State high command, the Ladakh Congress unit has conveyed in detail how the National Conference betrayed Congress during the LoK Sabha polls in Ladakh.
