Kasab Trial Deferred by a Week
Scheduled to commence on Monday, the trial of Ajmal Amir Kasab the lone Pakistani gunman to be captured alive during the gruesome 26/11 carnage in Mumbai, has been deferred by a week as construction of a Special Court at the Arthur Road prison has not been completed as yet.
“The construction of court’s slab is still on and the work is expected to be completed in six to seven days”, special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam was quoted as saying by PTI.
According to Nikam, Kasab and two other 26/11 accused will on Monday be produced before the session’s court through video conferencing. The court is presently in South Mumbai and would shift to Arthur Road jail once the construction of the premises is complete.
