Strict action to be taken against dealers selling fake fertilizers and seeds

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that strict action will be taken against dealers and distributors of fake fertilizers and seeds. Raids will be conducted on establishments of such people and strict action will be taken against them. Talking to a delegation of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh at his residence here today, Shri Chouhan said that sale of spurious fertilizers and seeds is a crime against farmers. People associated with it will not be spared.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is sensitive towards every issue pertaining to farmers. Last year, it came forward suo motto and distributed adequate relief, compensation and insurance claim amounts to farmers whose soybean crops had suffered damage. Rs. 4,800 crore was deposited in farmers’ bank accounts. Crop insurance of Rs. 4,300 is being provided. In this way, Rs. 9,100 crore has been deposited in farmers bank accounts. The state government is providing insurance amount to farmers without being asked by them. Recently, the state government took sou motto initiative to procure onion to save farmers from losses. He said that Bharatiya Kisan Sangh is highly sensitive towards farmers’ issues and action on its demands will be taken soon.

President of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Shri Ram Bharose Basotiya, Regional Representative Shri Rajendra Paliwal, Shri Kailash Thakur, Shri Vijay Gotiya, Malwa Region President Shri Kamal Singh Anjna were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister also released souvenir ‘Kisan Utthan’ published by Bharatiya Kisan Sangh.
