No case against any pro-BJP leader in eight years: Baghel

Not a single case has been filed against any pro-BJP leader in eight years. Only leaders of non-BJP-ruled states are being harassed, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Tuesday while demonstrating before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office.

It was the second day of a protest by the Congress in the Indian capital.

On Tuesday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi appeared before the ED for a second consecutive day in a money laundering case. Baghel and other party leaders staged a dharna in front of the ED office where he was taken into police custody.

Congress leaders and workers took out a march to the ED office in solidarity with the Congress leader. Earlier, Baghel and other leaders had staged a sit-in-demonstration before the AICC headquarters along with Rahul Gandhi.

Lambasting the BJP   government, Baghel said: “The BJP government at the Centre should say whether any action has been initiated against the leader of any   pro-BJP party in the last eight years.

“The moment a leader joins BJP, all the cases and matters against him get hushed up. ED, CBI, IT department are used to     suppress the voice of the opposition.”

Terming the ED action against Rahul Gandhi as malicious, he said it was “political vendetta”. As long as the Center continues to perpetrate atrocities, the protest will continue, he said

During evening hours, Baghel was stopped by Delhi Police outside Apollo Hospital in Sarita Vihar. He was going to meet Congress workers at the Badarpur police station where they had been detained.
