IM Suspect Brought to Delhi, Sent to Police Custody

Following his arrest in Uttar Pradesh, Salman Ahmed, a suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorist was brought to New Delhi and produced before a court, say media reports.

Ahmed (21), who was brought to the capital by a Special Cell team on transit remand, has been remanded to eight days in police custody.

Accused of involvement in the 2008 serial blasts in Delhi, Ahmed was produced before Duty Magistrate Ajay Garg who sent him to police custody till March 15. He was arrested by the UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) from Siddarth Nagar, near the Indo-Nepal border, on Friday night.

Meanwhile, a Rajasthan ATS team is on its way to New Delhi to question Ahmed for alleged involvement in the May 13, 2008 serial blasts in Jaipur.
