Madhya Pradesh honoured with Silver Award for excellent works in Livelihood Mission

Bhopal: The Union Minister for Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar honoured the team of Madhya Pradesh State Livelihood Mission with Silver Award for its excellent works at National Agriculture Science Centre (Pusa), New Delhi. The award was received by Shilpa Gupta, the Chief Executive Officer of the Mission.
Work to organize poor families dwelling in rural areas of the state for their social and economic empowerment is being done through self-help groups by the State Rural Livelihood Mission. Training, financial assistance and guidance are being given by the Mission to provide ample livelihood opportunities to them by forming groups, village organizations and sankul level organizations of villagers in the form of empowered institutions. The members of the groups are being linked with agriculture and non-agriculture livelihood activities for their social and economic progress.
