Impart professional training to junior lawyers: CM Baghel
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday made a call for providing professional know-how of court-based works to junior advocates to enhance their skills and provide them hands-on work experience.
The Chief Minister was virtually addressing the swearing-in event of the Durg Bar Association from here.
He approved the modernization of the library and improved office seating arrangement in the chamber of the Durg District Bar Association, an official communication said.
Nine office bearers and six Working Committee members were administered the oath of office.
“Junior lawyers face a lot of difficulties in early years of court practice due to lack of in-depth knowledge regarding the court proceedings. To overcome this anomaly, an action plan for professional training will be prepared by the Law Department,” Baghel said.
“The work span of lawyers is in broad range as they have to even approach courts of Tehsildar, Sub Divisional Magistrate and Collector. Once trained they can execute the work efficiently,” he said.
District and Sessions Judge, Durg, Rajesh Srivastava suggested training for junior lawyers before the Chief Minister.
He was asked to send a draft to the Law Department in Chhattisgarh for further action.
The Chief Minister said that it was Ghanshyam Gupta from Durg who drafted the Hindi version of the Indian Constitution.
