Governor Dissolves Haryana House, Oct Polls Likely

Governor Jagannath Pahadia on Friday dissolved the Haryana Vidhan Sabha following a unanimous recommendation by the state cabinet headed by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, say media reports.

The Election Commission of India is now likely to call for polls to the state assembly in October this year, elections in Congress ruled Maharashtra are already slated for the month.

Elections in the state were originally scheduled for February 2010, a month before the Hooda government would have completed its five year term in office.
