Former NSG Chief Hints at Local Link to 26/11

Former NSG chief has hinted that local link in the last year’s Mumbai terror attacks cannot be ruled out.

Speaking to a TV news channel, former NSG chief JK Dutt said that the 26/11 terrorists either had advance teams study the targets or local support to carry out the strikes.

It should be noted that the government and security agencies have repeatedly denied any local involvement or link to the terror attacks so far.

“There could have been local support for the 26/11 attacks. Given how well the terrorists seemed to know their targets, either they had advance teams for reconnaissance or local support that guided them to their targets,” said Dutt, who led the operations during the siege.

Following arrest of suspected Lashkar operative David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Rana by the FBI in Chicago, investigating agencies are inquiry if the two suspected terrorists, who had travelled extensively to India before the attacks, may have been part of the wider planning behind 26/11.
