Delhi HC Acquits Ex-Congressman in Buddhiraja Murder Case

Former Congressman Romesh Sharma has been acquitted by the Delhi High Court in Kunjum Buddhiraja murder case.

On March 20, 1999, Budhiraja was found dead in Sharma’s south Delhi farmhouse. She had gone to offer navratra prayers at a temple build by Romesh Sharma at his farmhouse.

Sharma was charged with conspiracy for Buddhiraja’s murder, while Sharma’s nephew, Surender Mishra, and his two accomplices Dolly and Sonu were charged with murdering her.

Sharma is still in Tihar Jail on a host of charges, including his alleged link with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
