Dantewada Massacre Probe Report on Schedule

Shrugging off reports of Maoist rebels firing on his convoy Saturday, Dantewada carnage probe panel chief EN Rammohan said that his work was and that the inquiry report would be submitted to the union home minister by April 25, said reports.

“My work is on. There has been no ambush today. I will be finishing the work as per the deadline announced by the home minister (P. Chidambaram) in parliament on Thursday last,” Rammohan was quoted as saying by IANS.

He, however, declined further comment.

Rammohan said suspected rebels fired at a road opening party (ROP) of the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) a few km away from his convoy. He said the rebels fled after security forces retailed to the fire, the report added.

The former director general Border Security Force is probing into the April 6 Maoist ambush attack that killed 75 CRPF troopers and a state police man were killed and eight security personnel injured.
