Clinical Trial of H1NI Vaccine Begins in Three Cities

For the first time in India, clinical trails for H1N1 vaccine has begun with three weeks trail of foreign vaccine Senofi (used in European countries) in three cities beginning today, said media reports.

The vaccine, which will be on trial in Chandigarh, Pune and Delhi, will be tested on one hundred subjects in total, said reports.

It should be noted that Zydus Cadila, Indian vaccine, started the trails from December. Four were granted permission for trials but three were yet to start.

According to what companies have said, so far each dose of Indian vaccine may be priced at 80-100 rupees each. Around 3-4 million doses of Indian vaccines will be available from April onwards.
