ECI’s directives regarding general electioneering materials

Bhopal: Election Commission of India has clarified regarding printline on general electioneering materials. Chief Electoral Officer Shri Jaideep Govind has apprised district collectors about the commission’s directives.

Some political parties have brought to the notice of the commission that general electioneering materials like cardboards, badges, paper caps, mobile stickers etc. and other related materials are being seized due to absence of printline on the them as per provisions of section 127A of Representation of People Act 1951. The commission has clarified that only posters and pamphlets come under the purview of these rules.
General electioneering materials like cardboards, badges, paper caps, mobile stickers etc. and other related materials are exempt from these rules. District Election Officers have been directed to act as per directives of the commission.
