BJP not to support NRI Mishra in Rajya Sabha elections

NEW DELHI/ RANCHI: The BJP president Gadkari has decided not to support the independent candidness Anshuman Mishra for the Rajya Sabha. He has been forced to take this decision due to the mounting pressure of Senior Party Leaders.

He also directed the Legislators from Jharkandh to remain absent fro mm the voting. The state leadership has to reconsider their decisions because if the senior leaders like Advani and Jasvant Sinha and they had to drop their plan of supporting the NRI candidate Mishra, who also does not have a clean image.

Ananth Kumar, the general secretory of the party said, “In view of large-scale horse trading and malpractices… the BJP has further decided that its members in the Jharkhand assembly will abstain from voting in the Rajya Sabha elections scheduled to be held on March 30.”

Mishra said. “Senior leaders are insecure of youngsters and, hence, do not wish to promote them.” He further added, “Abiding by the appeal by Nitin Gadkari, I will withdraw my nomination tomorrow…despite having the numbers to win.”

The coalition partner JMM’s deputy chief minister Hemant Soren said, “I have no official communication on the BJP deciding not to vote. If that is the case, we would be free to decide our independent action plan.”The decision might affect the stability of the ministry, headed by BJP’s Arjun Munda.
