Farmers’ registration for wheat procurement in 4 divisions till Jan. 23

Bhopal: For better implementation of Food Security Act, the Chief Secretary has directed to register names of remaining consumers till prescribed date. Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa gave these directives through videoconferencing Parakh to collectors today. Registration of consumers of various categories is going on in the state at a rapid pace and names of 2/3rd consumers have been registered. Upgradation will be done from January 17 to 19 and claims and objections will be accepted till January 20. After disposal by tahsildars, concerning lists will be prepared till February 11. The Chief Secretary asked collectors to ensure that registration of SC, ST consumers is completed by January 31.

It is noteworthy that those SC, ST consumers are eligible for getting food grains at concessional rates under the Act, who are not Class-1, II, III government servants or taxpayers. The Chief Secretary congratulated Seoni, Harda, Raisen and Dhar districts for cent percent registration. He directed other districts also to complete the work within time-limit.

Farmers’ registration: Farmers’ registration for procurement of wheat on support price has been started. It will be done till January 23 in 4 divisions including Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Indore and Ujjain and till February 3 in remaining divisions.

Rural transport: The Chief Secretary directed collectors to prepare development block and district route maps for better rural transport in the state. He directed collectors to inform about major fairs and mega events to be held in their districts in next one month. Instructions were also given to update district disaster management plan. The Chief Secretary directed to send details regarding temples and religious places by January 31.

Relief to farmers: It was informed at Parakh that allocations have been given to collectors to distribute relief to farmers against crop loss due to excessive rains. Directives were given to deposit relief amounts in farmers’ bank accounts.

Shaheed Diwas: The Chief Secretary directed to observe Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi’s martyrdom day January 30 as Shaheed Diwas. Honour should be expressed towards all martyrs on January 30 at 11 am at all government and private institutions. Discussions were also held on CM Helpline at the videoconference. Additional Chief Secretary Panchayats & Rural Development Smt. Aruna Sharma, Principal Secretary General Administration Shri K. Suresh and other Principal Secretaries and Secretaries were present on the occasion.
