State government increased the budget of Women and child welfare Department

The annual budget of  Woman & Child Development Department is increased comparing to the year 2005-06. The budget of this department has been increased now to more than four fold. Th Woman & Child Development department is always been in the priority list of the Chief Minister.

The annual budget of this department was Rs 481 crore 73 lakh in the year 2005-06 which has gone up to Rs. 1717 crore 79 lakh now. The Chief Minister has been reviewing activities of this department and took special interest to get the departmental schemes implemented successfully.

Because of every year progress in the programs and projects for the welfare of Women and Children, the implementation is now speeded up. Comparing to the year 2005-06, the budget of the year 2006-07 was Rs. 585 crore 51 lakh, an increase of Rs 113 crore 78 lakh have been seen.
In view of the Ladli Laxmi scheme and Mangal Days started in the year 2007, the budget of next year, 2008-09 was raised to Rs 754 cror 38 lakh.

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, who is in favour of women empowerment, has taken special interest in this department and raised the annual budget of 2009-10, by Rs 900 crore, to reach it Rs. 1655 crore 18 lakh. This was more than double of the previous year.

Last year the budget amount earmarked for organizing Mangal Divas in Anganwadis was Rs 14 crore 22 lakh which has been increased to Rs 19 crore 13 lakh during the current financial year. According to its priorities the state government has also increased the budget for Usha Kiran Yojna, Mahila Vitta Evam Vikas Nigam, Jagriti Shivir, Baal Adhikar Sanrakshan Ayog etc for the welfare and development of women and children.

During the current year there was an increase of Rs 62 crore 61 lakh raising the annual budget to a total Rs. 1717 crore 79 lakh. Special importance is being given for implementation of different schemes in the Woman & Child Development Department. The Ladli Laxmi scheme was introduced in the year 2007. Last year the amount earmarked for this scheme was Rs 276 crore which has gone up to Rs 302 crore 97 lakh during the current financial year. The budget for the integrated child development service scheme has also been raised to Rs 444 crore 64 lakh.
