Terms of Reference of Telangana Committee Likely by Weekend

The Centre has initiated the process of deliberations for finalizing the terms of reference (TOR) of the five-member Committee constituted on the Telangana issue, reported PTI.

Report said that Vinod K Duggal, member-secretary of the newly constituted Committee, held a nearly 30-minute long meeting with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Home Secretary Gopal K Paillai and deliberated on the broad silhouettes of the TOR.

According to reports, Duggal is scheduled to travel to Mumbai to discuss the terms of reference with Justice (Retd) BN Srikrishna, who is in the financial metropolis.

“We are trying our best to quickly put in place the terms of reference,” an official was quoted as saying.

Terms of reference will probably be announced by the weekend, said report.

Pillai had said yesterday that the terms of reference of the committee were being drafted and would be finalised in consultation with the chairman of the Committee.
