No Power-cut on Days of Polling and Counting

Ahead civic body elections, the state government has issued an instruction that no power-cut will be effected on days of polling and counting of votes.

According to government order, power will not be cut at the divisional and district headquarters as well as feeders of concerning tehsils and rural areas on December 11 and 14, the days of polling, and December 15 and 17, the days of counting votes.

“Power will be supplied 24 hours at the places where counting of votes will take place,” said Energy Secretary SPS Parihar.

He said that necessary instructions in this regard have been issued to the power distribution companies.

In emergency or cases of overdrawal, hand-tripping will be undertaken at the tehsil feeders where polls will not be conducted on that day. State Load-shedding Centre will issue instructions to this effect.

The power distribution companies have been asked to identify such feeders in advance so that action can be ensured in time.
