Two people arrested in case of child marriage
INDORE: On Tuesday two persons were today arrested in connection with a child marriage even as the district administration managed to prevent six such weddings from being solemnised, according to police.
The duo identified as Hatesingh and Ramchandra of Solsinda village under Sanver tehsil was arrested for allegedly getting their children below 18 years married.
Hatesingh’s daughter was married last night to Ramchandra’s son despite both being minors, police said.
Meanwhile, the Women and Child Development Department’ special squad prevented six child marriages from being solemnised at village Hansakhedi.
These marriages were scheduled to take place during a mass-marriage function but the squad intervened in time. The organisers were let-off with a stern warning.
