Jitu Patwari made MP PCC Chief ; Singhar Leader of Opposition

Jitu Patwari has been made the State Congress President in Madhya Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi himself called Patwari at 10 am on Saturday and informed him about being made PCC Chief. The appointment letter was released at 8 pm.

According to political experts, Jitu has got the advantage of being close to Rahul Gandhi, aggressive image and being a youth and farmer leader. However, he lost from Rau seat in this year’s assembly elections.

Gandhwani MLA Umang Singhar, nephew of former Leader of Opposition Jamuna Devi, has been made the Leader of Opposition, while Hemant Katare has been made the Deputy Leader. Jeetu comes from Other Backward Class (OBC), Umang Adivasi and Hemant from Brahmin class.

Sources said that the exercise for this change had started two days ago. The Congress high command has taken this decision keeping in mind the caste equation.

Both the big posts of State Congress have been given to the leaders of Malwa-Nimar. There are 66 assembly seats in this region. Congress has performed very poorly here in 2023 compared to the 2018 elections.

Jitu Patwari has lost the election by a huge margin, despite this, the reason for the new responsibility is being considered to be Rahul Gandhi’s choice.

Umang Singhar is considered a big tribal leader of Malwa-Nimar. He never lost from the tribal seat Gandhwani (District Dhar).

Hemant Katare is the Brahmin face of Gwalior-Chambal.

The appointment of the three youth leaders has cleared the Congress’s line regarding the Lok Sabha elections 2024 to an extent.

During the Jan Akrosh Yatra in Mandsaur, Jitu Patwari took out a bullet rally with his supporters.

On getting the new responsibility, Jitu Patwari thanked Rahul Gandhi and National President Mallikarjun Kharge. He said- It is only with the cooperation of Congress leaders and youth of Madhya Pradesh that a small worker like me has got a big responsibility. I know this feeling of how to take the idea of Congress to every home with collective leadership in the coming times.

The performance of Congress in the Lok Sabha elections should be good, this is a big challenge before us. Every Congress worker along with me realizes this.

Jitu Patwari is one of the few leaders of Congress who has direct access to Rahul Gandhi. Along with being the Higher Education Minister in the Kamal Nath government, he was also the state working president of the party.

The differences between Kamal Nath and Jitu remained in the news on various issues ranging from boycott of the Assembly. Although Patwari always publicly described Kamal Nath as his leader. He was also described as the future Chief Minister in the 2023 assembly elections.

Jitu Patwari was given the responsibility of Bharat Jodo Yatra and Jan Akrosh Yatra in Indore division. He also performed this very well. He also went to Bengaluru in 2020 to save the Kamal Nath government. He had also tried to persuade the rebel MLAs on behalf of the party high command.

Won elections twice, was also a minister; lost this time

Jitu Patwari was elected MLA from Rau for the first time in 2013. He has also been the working president of the state Congress and a national media panelist. Before this he had also been the President of Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress. When the Congress government was formed in Madhya Pradesh in 2018, he was the Cabinet Minister of Higher Education, Youth and Sports Affairs.

He won the election from Rau for the second time in 2018, but lost for the third time in 2023.

During the Jan Akrosh Yatra in Mandsaur, Patwari was warmly welcomed by the supporters.

Umang Singhar’s penetration in tribal belt, also linked to controversies

Umang Singhar, who has been made the Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, has influence in the tribal belt of Dhar-Jhabua-Alirajpur. Is a former minister. Has also contested Lok Sabha elections. He had advocated for making a tribal Chief Minister in the state. Recently, he had also apologized to Digvijay Singh for the statements given against him.

Singhar said – the aim is to boost the morale of the workers.

Singhar said- ‘Naturally it is a big responsibility. My first goal is to boost the morale of the workers.

Regarding the statement against Digvijay Singh, he said – I had differences with Digvijay ji, but there were never any differences of opinion. As far as BJP is concerned, it does not want to talk about development. Wants to divert attention from the issues.

BJP has made Dr. Mohan Yadav the Chief Minister and Jagdish Deora as the Deputy Chief Minister. Both come from Malwa-Nimar. Now Congress has also given big posts in the organization to two leaders of Malwa-Nimar in view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. There are 66 assembly seats in Malwa-Nimar. Due to its good performance here, Congress formed the government in 2018.
