CM seeks blessings from Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on success of River Link Project

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan sought blessings of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on success of Narmada-Kshipra-Simhastha Link Project, in New Delhi today. The confluence of Narmada and Kshipra rivers has fulfilled Shri Vajpayee’s river link dream. State BJP President Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and General Secretary Shri Arvind Menon were also present on the occasion.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited confluence point of Narmada and Kshipra rivers on Sunday to inspect the Rs. 432 crore Narmada-Kshipra-Simhastha Link Project.

The project is an example for the country. A big dream has been realised in Madhya Pradesh. The project will prove to be boon for Malwa region which was on the verge of becoming a desert. In the project’s next phase, Gambhir, Kali Sindh and Parwati rivers will also be linked with Narmada. According to Shri Chouhan, the project will provide drinking water to 70 towns and 3000 villages in Malwa region. Malwa region will have adequate food and water due to it. Malwa’s groundwater level will also rise.

It is noteworthy that Narmada water has started reaching originating point of Kshipra river at village Ujjaini in Indore district. A sense of enthusiasm has gripped Malwa region. The confluence point of Narmada and Kshipra village Ujjaini will be developed as Holy Pilgrimage Centre.
