China secures control over internet, mobile phone connections in Tibet
Beijing: China has secured control on all mobile phones and internet connections in Tibet, enforcing a law under which people will have to register themselves with their real names.
According to the data from regional communication administration, more than 27 lakh people had registered themselves under their real names, by the end of 2012, i.e. a year after the law came into action.
On behalf of Deputy Director of the administration Nyima Doje, Shinhua Newspaper agency said that the real name registration is conducive in protecting a citizen’s personal information and curbing the spread of detrimental information, Nyima Doje, deputy director of the administration told.
