Development priorities same for Raipur, GPM: CM Baghel

Other than bringing positive changes in people’s lives in Chhattisgarh, constant efforts are being made to develop a strong infrastructure and improve civic amenities in districts, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday.

The government’s priorities are the same for the development of both Raipur and the new district Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, he virtually told a programme held to inaugurate 752 development works worth Rs 681 crores in Raipur and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi. There will be no shortage of resources for the development of the new district, an offiicial communication quoted him as saying.

Continuous work is done to strengthen the road network from the urban areas of Raipur district to the villages around them, he said.

Baghel also unveiled the statue of social worker Nemichand Shrishrimal and journalist Govindlal Vora at Bal Ashram in Raipur. He praised the tradition of sacrifice, charity and philanthropy carried on them by them.

He said that Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi may lag behind in terms of roads, culverts and buildings, but the district is leading in availing the benefits of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana and Suraji Gaon Yojana.

Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant said the people of Chhattisgarh have become aware and have started voicing their opinions and demands. This is the real quality of a Chhattisgarhiya.
