39 Killed, Suicide Bomber Strikes, Gunmen Attack Office Buildings in Pak

At least 13 people were killed when a suicide car bomber hit a police station in the northwest Pakistan even as three other law enforcement buildings in the country were attacked by gunmen, said Pakistani authorities.

In eastern city of Lahore, gunmen opened fire on a building that houses office of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The office deals with matters pertaining to immigration and terrorism. While, other gunmen targeted two police training centres on the outskirts of the city.

According to local media, three policemen were killed in attack on FIA and they are holding some hostages. Police claimed that they killed two of the four attackers who barged into the building.

In the meanwhile, a suicide car bomber targeted a police station in Kohat district of northwest Pakistan, killing at least eight people. Including school children, said police.

In recent days, militants have carried out four high-profile terrorist attacks that killed more than 100 people.

No one has claimed responsibility for Thursday’s attacks, but the Pakistani Taliban has vowed to target military and government targets throughout the country.

Pakistani intelligence officials said earlier Thursday that a suspected missile strike from a U.S. drone killed at least four militants in the North Waziristan tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
