White paper to be released on malnutrition and maternal-infant mortality rate

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has instructed that woman and child development and health department to launch a joint drive to remove malnutrition from the state. Take the cooperation of all sections of the society. Release a white paper on malnutrition and maternal-infant mortality rate. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing Jansankalp-2013, Manthan 2014 and Vision 2018 in a joint meeting of ministers and senior officers today at Mantralaya.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that all have responsibility for development and carry out public welfare works as a team of Madhya Pradesh. It should be taken seriously and make the state leader in every field. He reviewed points related with 19 departments and rest will be taken up for review on September 20. The Chief Minister issued necessary directives to departments concerned. He said, action should be taken on the directives considering them as policy decisions. He said review meeting will be held in every three months.

Committee of ministers- officers constituted

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that to eradicate problem of malnutrition and reduce maternal-infant mortality rate is challenging task. A committee comprising woman and child development minister, public health and family welfare minister, additional chief secretary, forests, principal secretary, woman and child development and principal secretary, public health and family welfare, was constituted to make necessary arrangements in this regard. Shri Chouhan said that Swagatam Laxmi campaign should be made a public campaign. Make proper arrangements for treatment of malnourished children and frame a scheme to financially empower women self help groups. A detail action plan be made to promote productions by self help groups.

It was informed in the meeting that 16000 beneficiaries were benefited under community leadership skill programme being run by woman and child development department. Total 3779 child marriages were prevented under Lado campaign. Shorya Dals were constituted in all 51 districts. Udita corners were made in all 80,000 aangawaris to provide sanitary napkins under Udita Yojana.

Hostels to be constructed in PPP mode

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh did excellent works in several sectors. Work with positive approach and delivery better results. Organise programme related with cleanliness by all departments on October 2. Formulate a scheme for construction of hostels under PPP mode for youths coming for higher education in cities under Chief Minister House Rent Scheme. A corpus be introduced for arrangement of fund for higher education of meritorious students. Monitoring of all industrial training institutes and skill development centres be made and training be provided to youths as per industry demand. One polytechnic and one ITI be developed as model in each district.

Campaign for children’s heart treatment

Chief Minister said that dengue and malaria like diseases should not be spread and health department should take preventive measures. A campaign be launched to examine health under Mukhyamantri Bal Hriday Upchar Yojana and treatment be provided to such children. A scheme be made for treatment to Thalassemia affected children. Woman and child development department work together for vaccination. Better cleanliness arrangements be made in all government hospitals. Create job opportunities for girls through nursing colleges and special focus be made for research in Ayurveda.

It was informed in the meeting that facility for chemotherapy and dialysis is available in 51 districts in the state. A campaign was launched for treatment to poor women affected with infertility. Women in big number took the benefit. Gram Arogya Kendras are being run by health department in 50,000 villages. Total 860 doctors were recruited by Ayush department.

68,000 smart phones distributed to students

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan greeted technical education department for decision of holding engineering examinations in Hindi by Rajiv Gandhi Technological University. It was informed in the meeting that laboratories were upgraded in 138 collages in last three years. 68,000 smart phones have been distributed so far by department of higher education.

Improve road conditions

Chief Minister reviewed issues related with public works department and said, conditions of roads be improved. There should no dearth of fund. Regular whitewashing and maintenance be made in buildings. He instructed to complete Ken-Betwa project soon and prepare a roadmap for irrigation facility to 60 lakh hectare land. He instructed to restart nal-jal scheme and prepare plan for future requirement of drinking water and transparent policy for handpump installation. He asked general administration department officials to form a programme for district level officers. He appreciated dial 100 scheme and said law and order is better in the state as compared to other states.

Strict measures to curb mobile access in jails

Chief Minister instructed jail department officials that no criminal should conduct criminal activities while remaining in jail. It should be ensured. Elderly jail inmates who have one or two year punishment left, be provided facility of open jail. It was informed that open jail is being run in Hoshangabad district and 25 inmates are living with families there, who are going out for earning livelihood in day time. Similar open jail is being developed in Satna.

Core-banking in all cooperative banks

Chief Minister said that core banking system be introduced for all cooperative banks and transparent system be made so that no irregularity can be found and benefits of government schemes reach too beneficiaries. He said, necessary measures be taken to improve financial condition of ailing cooperative banks. Multi-purpose activities be started in collaboration with cooperative societies so that their conditions can be improved. He said, there is an important role of horticulture in doubling income through agriculture. The government will run horticulture programme from its own fund in the districts left in national Horticulture mission. Ministers, chief secretary, Director General of Police, additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries and heads of departments were present in the meeting.
