Centrally-funded new Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme sanctioned for tribal students
Bhopal: A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today sanctioned Centrally-funded new Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for tribal students of class IX and X. It will benefit students annual income of whose parents/guardians is upto Rs. 2 lakh.
Under the new scheme, hostellers will get Rs. 350 per month and non-hostellers Rs. 150 per month for 10 months. Rs. 1000 grant for books will be given to hostellers and Rs. 750 to non-hosteller tribal students.
Five types of allowances will be provided to disabled tribal students studying in non-government aided private schools. Rs. 160 per month allowance each will be given to vision-impaired tribal students, Rs. 160 per month conveyance allowance to disabled students, Rs. 160 per month as conveyance allowance to tribal students with over 80 percent disability, Rs. 160 per month to orthopaedically disabled students (hostellers) and Rs. 240 per month coaching allowance will be provided to mentally challenged students.
The cabinet accorded revised administrative sanction of Rs. 3,858 crore 73 lakh for 2,51,620 hectare command area of Ban Sagar project canal work (Unit-2) and investment clearance. Administrative sanction of Rs.591 crore 46 lakh and investment clearance was also accorded for development of command area in 1,54,687 hectares out of 2,51,620 hectares areas under Ban Sagar Project.
