Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah lead respective player rankings as India head into ICC World Cup 2019

Team India are one of the top favourites for the 2019 ICC World Cup, having played brilliant cricketer over the past couple of years at least. While the Indian team might not be the No. 1 ranked side in the format, they do have two of their best players – Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah – leading the charts for batsmen and bowlers’ rankings respectively while heading into the showpiece event.

Hosts England, fellow favourites, occupy the summit position in team rankings with 125 points, with the Men in Blue right behind at 121. In terms of the standings for batsmen, India occupy both first and second position, with Kohli followed by Rohit Sharma at No. 2.

The top 10 rankings for batsmen further include Ross Taylor, Shai Hope, Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, Babar Azam, Joe Root, Fakhar Zaman and Martin Guptill. Two New Zealand, two South Africa, two Pakistan, one England and one West Indies batsmen complete the top 10 while there’s no place for any player from Australia.

In the bowlers’ rankings, Bumrah is followed by New Zealand’s Trent Boult, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, South African pair of Iman Tahir and Kagiso Rabada, Australia’s Pat Cummins, India’s spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. England’s Chris Woakes and Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Zadran complete the top 10.

In the bowlers’ rankings, there’s no place for a Pakistani bowler even in the top 25, with Hasan Ali being the top-ranked bowler from the country at 26th position, jointly with South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi.

In terms of all-rounders, Bangladesh Shakib Al Hasan is the top-ranked player with 559 points. He is followed by Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan only 20 behind and his compatriot Mohammad Nabi, who sits further 20 points behind at 519.
