Haj Houses at Bhopal to be built at cost of Rs. 6 crore

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh government is going to construct Haj House at Bhopal in the larger interests of minorities. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will laying foundation stone for state’s first Haj Hose at Singarcholi on Airport Road here on April 29 at 2 pm. Minorities Welfare Minister Shri Ajay Vishnoi, MP Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and State Haj Committee Chairman Dr. Sanwar Patel will be present on the occasion.

Construction of Haj House at Bhopal will fulfil a Long-cherished wish of state capital’s residents. The State Government has sanctioned Rs. 6 crore 11 lakh 25 thousand for construction of Haj House. Of this, Rs. 1 crore has been paid as grant to State Haj Committee. State’s first Haj House will be constructed at Bhopal and second at Indore.
For Bhopal Haj House, 2.01 acre land has been allotted at village Singarcholi. Tenders were invited from architects for its construction. The competent committee selected architects Mehboob & Associates. Earlier, a Rs. one lakh competition was announced for architects. Winner of the competition Mehboob & Associates will be felicitated with this prize and letter of commendation.
The Haj House will be constructed in 45 thousand square feet area. It will have four storeys. It will house about 1500 pilgrims and will have facilities of training etc. Office of the State Haj Committee will also be set up on its premises. The construction under the supervision of Capital Project will be completed by the end of year 2014.
It is noteworthy that for the first time in country, Madhya Pradesh government had provided photo and mobile number bearing identity cards of Khadim-ul-Hujjaj (Haj assistants) sent to Saudi Arabia to look after Haj pilgrims, to all Haj pilgrims. Besides, a 24X7 call centre was also set up at Bhopal during entire 45-day period of Haj. The Central Haj Committee has also lauded these efforts of the State Government. In year 2012, Haj pilgrims from the state were provided SIM card valid in Saudi Arabia (each with balance of 5 Riyals). Not only this, one embarkment point each was also set up at Indore and Bhopal airports.
