Rs 50 lakh Sanctioned to make Narmada pollution-free
Bhopal: With the purpose of making Narmada river pollution free, state administration department has sanctioned a sum of Rs 50 lakh for laying down sewage line at its orinin in Amarkantak.
During Urban Administration Minister Babulal Gaur’s visit to Amarkantak, the plan prepared by public health engineering (PHE) department was presented to him.
According to the plan, a 1.5 km long sewage line will be laid in the town and waste water generated in the city will be treated in a plant. This will help in preventing it (waste disposal) from mixing in Narmada at its origin, they said.
Gaur has also instructed officials to clean septic tanks of hotels, houses and hostels with the help of suction machines to ensure cleanliness in the holy town, the sources said.
