National Media Awards for voters’ education and awareness
Bhopal: Election Commission of India has decided to give awards for best campaign for voters’ education and awareness during Vidhan Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh in year 2013. Entries can be submitted till December 15, 2013. These awards will be given on National Voters’ Day on January 25, 2014. Separate awards have been announced for electronic and print media.
The commission has directed media houses to write their name, address, telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address on the entries. The entries should be sent to Shri Rahul Sharma, Under Secretary (Media), Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, Ashok Nagar, New Delhi. Further information about the awards can be obtained from phone number 011-2305270. Norms for the award have also been set by the jury. These include quality of campaign, area of coverage and impact on people. If entries are submitted in a language other than Hindi/English then their translation in English will have to be attached. For electronic media, CD or DVD of the campaign and its duration will have to be given. Entries have been invited in view Vidhan Sabha elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, New Delhi and Mizoram.
