Pak Army Sponsored 26/11 Attacks, Alleges Prosecution

In 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case, prosecution has alleged involvement of the Pakistani Army in the attacks and argued it was state-sponsored terrorism, report said.

In the closing arguments, the prosecution focused on how the Pakistani state actors involved in security apparatus of that country sponsored the attack, report said.

“We have commenced the final arguments in the case of Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab. I pointed out to the court that this is a case of larger criminal conspiracy and case of sponsor of terrorism,” Ujjwal Nikam, Public Prosecutor in Kasab’s case, was quoted as saying.

The prosecution made following points:

A.    Major general is connected to Pakistan army and is separate from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)
B.    Enough circumstantial and corroborative evidence
C.    Payment made for VoIP was made from Lahore
D.    Not merely an attack by the LeT but done with support from state
E.    A lot of efforts were made to conceal the identity of attackers
F.    The nature of attack was such that not just arms training it involved intelligence training as well
