Public service is my religion: Chief Minister

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that public service is his religion. He has become the Chief Minister only to serve people. Shri Chouhan was speaking at Antyodaya Mela at Vijaypur in Sheopur district today. He gave away gifts worth Rs. 35 crore 58 lakh 91 thousand to the people of Vijaypur at the Mela.
The Chief Minister said that the government is committed to farmers’ welfare. He said that compensation will be given to the farmers whose lands have been acquired for Upper Kaketi Dam Project. Assuring farmers, he said that the irrigated land shown as unirrigated in records will be shown as irrigated after rectifying the records.
The Chief Minister said that 24-hour power will be supplied to every village in the state from May. Shri Chouhan said that students will get loans for higher education on State Government’s guarantee. Similarly, new entrepreneurs will be provided loan guarantee upto Rs. 25 lakh. Shri Chouhan said that the State Government has also made arrangements that 50 percent jobs will be provided to local youths in the new industries being set up in the state.
Addressing the Mela, local MP Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Chief Minister is ensuring all-round development of the state with a view to eradicating poverty. Jail & Transport Minister Shri Jagdish Deora, Forest Development Corporation Vice-Chairman Shri Babulal Mewra, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Guddi Bai and other public representatives were also present at the Mela. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan flagged off five 108 Ambulances to various development blocks of Sheopur district by handing over their keys.
Inspects hailstorm-affected mustard crops at village Moreka in Sheopur district : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan also inspected hailstorm-affected crops at village Moreka in Veerpur tahsil of Sheopur district. Member of Parliament Shri Narendra Singh Tomar was also present on the occasion. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh government has amended rules and regulations in the interest of farmers. Now, Rs. 10 thousand per hectare compensation will be given if wheat and mustard crops have suffered 50 percent or more damage. Compensation will be provided to farmers as per survey report. He said that loan recovery from farmers will be made in easy instalments in view of loss to crops. Surcharge on electricity bills for current year outstanding against affected farmers will be waived. Similarly, initiative will be taken to make available crop insurance claim amounts on the basis of crop cutting exercise. At the outset, the Chief Minister inspected hailstorm-affected mustard crop in the field of tribal farmer Shri Prasadi son of Shri Dhanphi Adivasi at Pura Mauja in village Moreka. He also interacted with farmers and heard their problems.
