MP Mandi Board engineer nabbed taking bribe

Bhopal. An engineer posted with MP Mandi Board is caught red handed by Lokayukta police for accepting bribe at his MP Nagar office on Friday. He  was accepting Rs 25,000 for clearance of bills of work done for the department.

According to the Lokayukta officials, Vipin Banjhal was nabbed while accepting the gratification Kailash Parmar.

Initially the victim was asked to pay Rs 90,000 but later the deal was done at Rs 40,000. The victim had paid Rs 15,000 earlier and was scheduled to pay Rs 25,000 but he decided to lodge a complaint with the Lokayukta.

The accused is posted as engineer with repair and renovation wing of the engineering department of MP Mandi Board.

The complainant was involved in contractual work of renovation.

A case was registered against Vipin under section 7 and 13(1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation into the matter has been started.
