MODERN FACILITY FOR EXAMINING CATTLE DISEASES TO BE EXTENDED TO ALL DISTRICTS

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that maximum use of all the ultramodern means and resources to be made available under Prime Minister’s Lab-to-Land Scheme. It will lead to unprecedented progress in agriculture and animal husbandry sectors. He said that efforts are underway in the state for fourfold increase income of animal rearers.

The Chief Minister was addressing Lab-to-Land Programme at Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary University in Jabalpur today. Its objective is to reach out benefit of discoveries and researches made by scientists to farmers and animal rearers. On the occasion, the Chief Minister formally launched 3 new products of Sanchi Brand including kaju katli, rasgulla and gulab jamun. The Chief Minister gave away state level Gopal Puraskar to keepers of maximum milk giving cows of indigenous breed. He also launched a website Gyanarjan.

The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has largest number animals in the country, but their breed needs to be improved. At present, facility for examination of cattle diseases through ultramodern methods is available in 39 districts of the state. This facility will be extended to all districts soon. He said that Sanchi Brand will be made more popular than Amul. It is not impossible. Only good marketing is needed for this. He said that milk production societies will be formed in all villages and Dairy Federations will be further promoted. The Chief Minister said that apart from increasing milk production, range of milk products will also be increased. Milk powder will also be produced if milk production exceeds requirement.

Animal Husbandry Minister Sushri Kusum Mahdele said that the state government has introduced and is extending maximum facilities for several new methods for animal husbandry. She advised farmers to adopt these methods.

Panchayats and Rural Development Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Shri Gaurishankar Bisen, Minister of State for Health Shri Sharad Jain, university’s vice-chancellor Shri Amarjeet Singh Nanda, Principal Secretary Animal Husbandry Shri Prabhanshu Kamal, scientists, veterinary doctors and large number of animal rearers were present on the occasion.
