Liquor shops will not be opened in residential localities and near educational institutes: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that de-addiction drive will be launched in Madhya Pradesh. Liquor shops have been closed down in five km distance from Narmada river both the sides in the first phase from April 1. He said that liquor shops would not be allowed to open in residential localities, near educational institutes and religious places. The Chief Minister said that alcohol prohibition will be implemented in entire state in phase manner by closing all liquor shops. He said that human civilisation and culture will be saved only when rivers exist. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing Jan Samvad in village Neemkhera (Heerapur) of Narsinghpur district on 113th day of Narmada Seva Yatra.

The Chief Minister said that we have seen break in flow of river Tapti, Betwa and Kshipra. If flow of Narmada breaks, the life won’t be saved. He said that the best agriculture practice is in Narsinghpur district in Asia because of Narmada river. Water of Narmada basin is going to Ganga basin.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that lakhs of people will plant crores saplings on both the shores of Narmada on July 2 from Amarkantak to Badwani. The river is base of prosperity of Madhya Pradesh. It provides drinking water to two dozen cities. Madhya Pradesh received Krishi Karman Awards four times due to blessing of the river. It provides water for irrigation and power production. Narmada Seva Yatra has been launched to repay its debt and conserve it. He said that treatment plants will be set up in cities located both sides of Narmada. Treated water will be given to farms. He administered resolution for plantation of Narmada shores, construct toilets in houses located its shores and dispose of pujan material in kund. Changing rooms and Muktidhams will be constructed on the banks of the Narmada. The Chief Minister said that daughters must saved and every child must be sent to school.

The Chief Minister said that bill will be brought to award capital punishment to accused in rape cases the forthcoming monsoon season. He announced that Gau Vansh Vanya Vihar will be established in Narsinghpur.

Parikrama of only Maa Narmada

Jagatguru Shankaracharya Shri Swaroopanand Maharaj said that there are many rivers in the country and the world but parikrama is done only around Maa Narmada. He said that Adi Shankaracharya took the principle of Adwaitvad in which it is told that the bodies are different but the soul is one. Adwaita should not have any discrimination. Shankaracharya ji said that children should be given lessons of Gita and Ramayana also.

Sarod Player Amjad Ali Khan praises Yatra

World famous Sarod player Shri Amjad Ali Khan said that the Narmada and environment conservation yatra initiated by Chief Minister is laudable and an exemplary. Other Chief Ministers must also follow the example. He sang the song “Bharat hai Desh Pyara- Bharat hai desh Nyara, Iski Sabhyata hai Mahan- Iski Sanskriti hai Mahan”.

Narsinghpur district in charge and Public Works Minister Shri Rampal Singh and MP Shri Rao Udaypratap Singh, Chairperson of State Women’s Commission Smt. Lata Wankhede Shri Akhileshwaranand, Didi Pragya Bharti and other speakers also addressed the gathering during the Jan Samvad.

The Yatra was welcomed by villagers with enthusiasm, faith and devotion amidst beating of drums and women carrying kalash on their heads. People of all categories including women, senior citizens and children took part in the yatra. Amidst loud cheering and chanting of Har-Har Narmade, the aarti of Maa Narmada was performed.

MP Shri Ganesh Singh of Satna region, all MLAs, District Panchayat presidents, vice –presidents, sadhus of Narsinghpur district besides environmentalist Shri Bharat Bhushan Garg, Mohd. Aqueel Raza and people’s representatives were also present on the occasion.
