Jobs to be made available to youths through skill development : CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that jobs have to be made available to youths in the state through skill development. Necessary facilities will be provided to those who wish to undertake higher education, but work of skill development will be made like mission in the state instead of meaningless education. China has set a precedent in the world by bringing about a revolution in making jobs available to youths through skill development. Youths in every village and city of Madhya Pradesh will get jobs by undergoing training.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing skill development session of commissioner-collector conference here today. He said that at least one skill development centre will be opened in each development block till next year.
Shri Chouhan said that efforts are being made skill development of traditional artisans and handicraftsmen as per industries’ requirements. it is necessary that skill development centre and Industrial Training Centre of every district should be run properly. He said that there will be no paucity of funds required for this work.
Presentation
At the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Ajita Bajpai Pandey threw light on importance and prospects of skill development programme. She informed that during two decades from 2010 to 2030 India will have the biggest young manpower in the world. A large-scale programme for skill development has been started with this in view.
She informed that arrangements for quality teaching and certification are being made in both formal and non-formal sectors. As many as 25 departments have been included in this programme. The Forest Department has chalked out a skill development programme for youths of Tiger Reserves. She said that the department is chalking out a new scheme for community college training. This scheme will be implemented in 100 colleges initially. She informed that the department is also launching a web portal in which information will be available about trades of training, number of trainees and their placement.
Suggestions
At the meeting, Panchayats & Rural Development Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava suggested to identify news areas of employment prospects and impart training accordingly. Minister of State for Agriculture Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh suggested for effective use of imported machinery. Useful suggestions were also put forth by collectors of Tikamgarh, Sheopur, Seoni, Betul, Hoshangabad and Seoni.
Directives
Collectors have been directed to run skill development programme as per demands of local industries as well as state. They should include skill development in their work priorities. They should make available land for establishment of ITI in unserviced development blocks. Private training providers should be activated for inclusion in the scheme.
