Farmers’ interests to be look after: Rajendra Shukla

Bhopal: Energy and Public Relations Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla has said that development of agriculture and farmers is among top priorities of the state government. He said that the state government will always look after interests of farmers. The Energy Minister performing Bhumi Poojan of construction of Hanumana Krishi Upaj Mandi and Mauganj Krishi Upaj Mandi premises costing about Rs. 3 crore 50 lakh at Rewa today.

The Minister said that state has made remarkable progress in agricultures sector during last 12 years. Madhya Pradesh is receiving awards due to agriculture growth rate for consecutive last 3 years. He said that the state government always stands by farmers in the time of crisis. The Energy Minister said that farmers of Rewa districts should make Mauganj-Hanumana region like Punjab in agriculture production. Initiative has been made to expand irrigation facilities in the district by releasing Bansagar water in Adwa nullah. He urged farmers to connect with Prime Minister’s new insurance schemes. Rewa MP Shri Janardan Mishra said that modern facilities are being made available to farmers in districts Krishi Upaj Mandis. He urged farmers to grow horticulture crops along with traditional crops.

Inspection of Electricity Board’s office:  Energy Minister Shri Shukla inspected office of Electricity Board at Mauganj. He sought information from executive engineer regarding feeder separation, cabling and installation of breakers. Shri Shukla said that concrete efforts should be made to reduce power distribution losses. He directed to hold camps for recovery of electricity dues at village level. The executive engineer informed that a new sub-station has been sanctioned in Mauganj area. It would be completed at the earliest.
