Engineers should commit themselves for Development of State

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged the engineers to commit themselves for the development and progress of state. They have opportunity to reconstruct the state. Let it not go futile. CM Shri Chouhan was addressing the programme organized by the Madhya Pradesh Engineers association on the occasion of Engineers Day at Ravindra Bhavan today. Shri Chouhan also dedicated the association’s website mpengineers.com on the occasion. He also honoured the senior engineers who have attained the age of 75 years.

CM Shri Chouhan said that engineers are the foundation of development. Credit goes to engineers for making Madhya Pradesh a leading state. They have made impossible work possible. Completion of Narmada- Kshipra link project within 13 months is the achievement. Similarly, whether it is increasing command irrigation area from 7.5 lakh to 40 lakh hectare or quality construction of roads and buildings, creation of transparent arrangements have resulted in decrease in construction cost. Madhya Pradesh has become surplus power state now, where there was always a shortage of electricity earlier. He further stated that Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead on the path of development. Cement concrete road has taken place in place of tar roads. A sum of Rs. 75 thousand crore will be spent on the works of urban bodies. Various works costing Rs. 35 to 40 thousand crore are under way. Metro rail is to be brought. Works related to potable water have to be carried out and we have to make village and towns smart.

Shri Chouhan inspired the engineers for excellent work with positive approach while narrating story about the laborers engaged in stone carving for temples. He said that we have to make Madhya Pradesh best in the country. We will have to work together with a team spirit. People delivering best will be honoured publicly and people showing apathy towards development schemes should be punished.

Minister for Urban Development Smt. Maya Singh, Minister for Public Works Department Shri Rampal Singh, Minister of State for Cooperatives( Independent Charge) Shri Vishwas Sarang, Office Bearers of Madhya Pradesh Engineers Association and Members were present on the occasion.
