Dial-100 service should be started in state from August 15

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that dial-100 service should be started simultaneously throughout the state from August 15. Besides, maximum use of technology should be made to maintain law and order. Shri Chouhan was reviewing activities of Home Department here today. Home Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa and DGP Shri Surendra Sinh were also present. Shri Chouhan also reviewed works of Home Guards and Citizens Security Department, Directorate of Public Prosecution, Madhya Pradesh Police Housing Corporation and management branch.

The Chief Minister said that people’s happiness and peace is top priority of the state government. State’s prosperity depends on law and order. He said that technical and human resources should be utilized effectively. Apart from maximum use of technology, forces should also be deployed effectively. He said that efforts should be made to launch dial-100 services for convenience of people by August 15 at any cost. People have much hopes from this service. Service should be conducted at best level. Under it, response time of police should not be more than half an hour in cities. Responsibilities of officers and employees should be fixed. Officers with good performance should be rewarded and non-performers punished. He also stressed the need for cross checking of cases reported to Chief Minister’s Helpline.

The Chief Minister reviewed police welfare works. He directed that 24 thousand police houses should be constructed in phases during next 3 years. He said that all police stations in the state should be housed in government buildings. For this, an action plan for next 3 years should be chalked out. Shri Chouhan directed for continuity in appointment and promotion process of police force. He laid emphasis on more effective control and penal action against institutional and individual cyber crimes.

The meeting was informed that 7 zonal offices have been opened for curbing cyber crimes in the state. State Examiner for Digital Documentation will also be deployed soon. Sub Inspectors educated in science subjects are being deployed to curb cyber crimes. The Chief Minister sought information about process to file challans in identified crimes within 15 days. It was informed that 99.6 percent challans are being put up within time-limit. Merits and demerits are also examined in every case of delay.

Reviewing activities of State Disaster Management Force, Shri Chouhan stressed the need for continued drills and training. He said that the force should identify enthusiastic youths in urban and rural areas and hold training and awareness camps to cooperate with the force in times of emergencies. It was informed that process is also on to provide them minimum wages at par with police constables. During review of Public Prosecution Department, Shri Chouhan stressed the need to chalk out an action plan to increase work capacity.

It was informed that CCTV cameras are being installed at 823 places in 11 cities of the state. Information was also given about department’s action plan for Simhastha-2016. ACS Home Shri B.P. Singh, ACS Finance Shri Ajaynath, DGs of Home Guards, Police Housing, Public Prosecution etc. and other senior officers also attended the meeting.
