CM marries off adopted daughter on grand scale

Bhopal: On the pious occasion of Janaki Jayanti, marriage of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Smt. Sadhana Singh’s adopted daughter Suabhagyakanshini Sona with Chiranjeev Trilok Chand was solemnized at Vidisha’s Shri Barhwale Ganesh Mandir in the presence of Pujya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshananda Ji Maharaj, famous Grahasth Sant Dadda Ji Pt. Dev Prabhakar Shastri and other saints and seers. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshananda Ji and Sant Dadda Ji described this marriage as charitable work of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. The seers blessed the newly weds and thanked CM Shri Chouhan and Smt. Sadhana Singh.

Describing participation of saints and seers in the marriage as good fortune, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that their participation has enhanced dignity of the marriage. He said that daughters are like Ganga, Gita, Gayatri, Sita-Savitri, Durga and Laxmi. World can be happy only when daughters are happy. He informed that this adopted daughter was brought to Maa Sunder Devi Ashram at the age of 8 years. All girls of the ashram including this one has been treated like daughters by his wife Smt. Sadhana Singh due to my political preoccupations and gave affection of both father and mother. He said that entire girls of the state are his own daughters being their Mama. Since ashram’s girls have no parents, we are their parents. Shri Chouhan said that marriage of daughter is also a painful occasion along with happiness and joy and he is giving farewell to the daughter with heavy heart. He urged people of the country to bring up daughters with pampering and give them opportunity to move ahead in life without any discrimination.

Arrival of marriage party

Smt. Sadhana Singh and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan greeted the marriage party amidst beating of drums on its arrival at Shri Ganesh Mandir. Their son Shri Kartikey applied Tika to bridegroom Shri Trilok Chandra. The couple took 7 rounds around fire with religious rites and rituals for solemnization of marriage. Much before arrival of marriage party, the CM and Smt. Sadhana Singh had made elaborate arrangements for welcome at various places. First they went to Sanchi-based Baudhh Sthan where marriage party was lodged. They sought information about marriage party’s breakfast, meals and other arrangements. Later, they reached Shri Barhwale Ganesh Ji Mandir. They had Darshan at Mandir and inspected Mandap arrangements. After being satisfied with arrangements, they reached Maa Sunder Devi Sewa Ashram where Smt. Sadhana Singh was already present along with would-be bride Sona and other daughters. Shri Chouhan and his wife brought Sona and her friends to marriage venue Shri Ganesh Mandir.

Tasty dishes were served to members of marriage party and all visitors. Describing marriage as a Yagya, Shri Chouhan cordially urged people to take food as Prasad. Revenue Minister Shri Rampal Singh was overseeing arrangements at marriage venue. Ministers Sarvshri Sartaj Singh, Jayant Malaiya, Umashankar Gupta, Bhupendra Singh and Deepak Joshi, MLAs and other public representatives were also present. The venue was interspersed by sonorous tunes of Shehnai.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan and Smt. Sadhana Singh while playing role of parents for Sona, not only arranged her education and training, but also made every possible effort for her marriage. Smt. Sadhana Singh ensured that every ritual of Sona’s marriage is solemnized in her presence.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan had entrusted responsibility to find bridegroom for Sona Mehra, who had come to Maa Sunder Devi Ashram as its fourth inmate in year 2000 to Smt. Sadhana Singh. Smt. Sadhana Singh asked her acquaintances and Sona’s relatives in Budni to find bridegroom for her. The search ended on Trilok Chandra, son of Shri Raghuveer Mehra of Baktara village in Budni tahsil. The bridegroom works as JCB and Pokelain operator in a construction company. His monthly salary is about Rs. 10 thousand. Sona is working as an anganwadi worker. Maa Sunder Devi Ashram was founded by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan when he was Member of Parliament from Vidisha constituency.
