2 lakh public representatives and employees to be trained under MNREGA

Bhopal: About 2 lakh public representatives and employee will be trained in the next 3 months for more effective MNREGA implementation. Additional Chief Secretary Panchayats & Rural Development Smt. Aruna Sharma informed that 313 teams of master trainers are being prepared for this. The master trainers will impart one-day training to batches of 50 trainees each at Janpad Panchayats.
Smt. Sharma informed that new directives and guidelines to this effect have been received from the Union Government. Master trainers will be prepared during two-training sessions at the headquarters level. These master trainers will train Mates, Village Employment Assistants, Gram Panchayat Secretaries, Sarpanchs and Sub-Engineers working with Gram Panchayats. Every batch will comprise sapanchs of maximum 6 Gram Panchayats and government staff.
Total one lakh 81 thousand 245 Janpad and Gram Panchayat office-bearers including 23 thousand 51 sarpanchs, 23 thousand 51 Gram Panchayat Secretaries, 18 thousand 42 Village Employment Assistants, one lakh 15 thousand 255 Mates and 1846 sub-engineers will be imparted training. There will be total 1252 master trainers. Every team will comprise an Additional Programme Officer, one Assistant Accounts Officer, one Sub-Engineer and one Data Entry Operator. Training programme for master trainers has been proposed from March 11, 2013 to April 8. Three day after undergoing training, every batch of master trainers will start imparting training in their respective Janpad Panchayat.
