181 complaints against violation of model code redressed

Bhopal: A total of 221 complaints were registered by various political parties against violation of model code of conduct during Lok Sabha elections with the office of the Chief Electoral Officer. Of these, 181 complaints have been redressed. All these complaints regarding violation of model code were filed after announcement of Lok Sabha elections on March 5.

Of the AAP’s 12 complaints 10 have been redressed while remaining 2 complaints pertain to Shivpuri and Sehore. BJP’s 33 out of 39 complaints have been redressed. Remaining 6 complaints including 2 each regarding Mandsaur and Satna and one each regarding Chhindwara and Ujjain are under process.

Indian National Congress had registered 88 of which 70 have been disposed off. Of the remaining complaints 7 are regarding Jabalpur, 3 Bhopal, 2 Chhindwara and one each Satna, Gwalior, Damoh, Datia, Indore and Bhind districts. They are being redressed. The CPI had registered one complaint which has been redressed. Bahujan Samaj Party’s 2 out of 4 complaints have been disposed of. Remaining 2 belong to Shivpuri and Balaghat districts. Among other political parties, one complaint each was registered by Gondwana Ganatantra Party, Samajwadi Party and Lok Janshakti Party, which have been redressed.

Other 74 complaints were registered by departments, media etc of which 62 have been redressed. Remaining 12 complaints belong to 9 districts including 4 to Bhopal and one each to Satna, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Morena, Sagar, Rewa, Panna and Shivpuri districts.
