Congress introspects over defeat in MP: Two state ge Congress neral ministers resign; Supervisors will be appointed soon

Congress officials are resigning after the crushing defeat in the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. On Saturday, two Congress General Ministers resigned in Jabalpur. Earlier on Friday evening, a review meeting of MP Congress leaders was held at the Congress headquarters in Delhi.

MP Congress in-charge Randeep Surjewala said after the meeting that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal discussed the election results with the leaders of Madhya Pradesh. All the leaders shared their experiences. The reasons for the defeat were discussed with an open mind. Where there were shortcomings, there was introspection, analysis and discussion.

Surjewala said that now it has been left to the party president to decide what should be the structure of the party’s organization and how to move forward. MP leaders have also asked the party president to appoint observers soon, so that the leader of the opposition can be decided soon after holding a meeting of the legislature party.

As soon as the meeting of Madhya Pradesh Congress leaders ended, Kamal Nath left in the car. After this, Leader of Opposition Dr. Govind Singh and Kantilal Bhuria also came out. He did not talk to the media. After some time, MP state in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala along with national secretaries of Congress and co-in-charge of Madhya Pradesh came in front of the media and presented their views.

In Jabalpur, State Congress General Secretaries Ashok Gupta and Pankaj Pandey have resigned from their posts. Both the General Ministers have sent their resignations to PCC Chief Kamal Nath. Both the leaders were election in-charge of Congress candidate in Jabalpur.

Ashok Gupta is also the acting state president of Congress Legal Cell. He said that elections are part of democracy. Everyone has to accept the decision given by the people, which the Congress Party has done. As far as resignation is concerned, I was awarded the post of General Secretary by the State Congress Committee during the elections. I have no desire for position. I have been a Congressman for the last 40 years and three generations. He said that I resigned because a team of youth should be formed in the state, who should start preparing for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
