CM reviews the preparations for foundation day of Buddhist University

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed here today preparations for foundation laying function of Buddhist and Indian Knowledge Studies University at Sanchi. The function will be attended by Sri Lankan President, Bhutanese Prime Minister, Buddhist monks and a large number of common men.

Higher Education & Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, Additional Chief Secretaries Shri I.S. Dani and Shri Antony J.C. D’sa, DGP Shri Nandan Dube and other officers were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Sanchi Buddhist University will be unique and novel centre of education. He stressed the need to accelerate pace of completion of formalities, construction works etc. by fixing time limit. He also directed to appoint Officers on Special Duty for various university-related works.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that appropriate security arrangements should be made for VVIPs. Wide publicity should be undertaken and advance information should be given to people about diversion of roads on account of traffic movement of VVIPs.

It was informed at the meeting that for participating in foundation laying function, Sri Lankan President Shri Mahinda Rajapaksa will arrive with the Foreign Minister in the morning of September 21. Bhutanese Prime Minister Shri Leo Jigme Thinley will arrive on September 20 morning and make night stay at Bhopal. He will also visit Bhopal’s must-see spots.

It was informed that lunch in honour of VIPs will be in traditional Indian style. Cultural programme will also be organised at the venue.
