Kabul Bombing Kills Six Italian Troops, 10 Afghans
Six Italians and 10 Afghan civilians were killed as a suicide car bomber detonated in the heart of Kabul on Thursday.
The bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into two Italian military vehicles around noon.
Italian Defense Minister Ignazio La Russa speaking in Rome confirmed the deaths of six soldiers an added that four others were wounded.
The Afghan interior ministry said 10 Afghan civilians were killed in the explosion and pegged the number of those wounded in the incident at close to 60.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility, saying in a text message that one of their militants carried out the suicide attack against NATO forces, said Associated Press.
