Abu Muslim alias Chhotu killed BSF jawan Ramzan Ahmad Parray in Kashmir

Srinagar: Outgoing DIG North Kashmir Nitish Kumar on Thursday blamed Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit for the killing of off-duty Border Security Force (BSF) Constable Ramzan Ahmad Parray in Hajin area of Bandipora district. Parray was shot by suspected militants inside his home last night. Four of his family members were injured in the shooting.
Talking to journalists in Baramulla on Thursday, Kumar said that LeT commander Mehmood Bhai carried out the killing of Parray. The forces have identified the person believed to have killed Parray. The accused, a member of the Mehmood Bhai group has been identified as Abu Muslim alias Chhotu. “He was accompanied by few more militants when the killing took place,” said Kumar.
Director General of Police SP Vaid said that about four militants barged inside Parray’s home and shot him dead. “The militants came to the BSF jawan’s residence and started shooting. He was dragged out of his house and shot,” said Vaid.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah has termed the killing as “abominable”.
“What a terrible incident. This is abominable. Heartfelt condolences to the family of Ramazan Parray. Hope the injured recover soon,” Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging website Twitter.
Meanwhile, Parray’s father who was injured in the firing by militants is presently in a critical condition.
