From Akshay Kumar to Deepika Padukone: Here’s who earns what from their endorsement deals

Ever wonder how much do the top Bollywood celebrities earn by the ad films and commercials that feature them? Think not, as we’ve got you covered. A recent entertainment market report Showbiz 2.0 The Indian Superpower released by Group M’s ESP Properties has revealed how much do top B-town actors earn in order to be the face of a brand.

With endorsement deals worth Rs 100 crore, Akshay Kumar has topped the celebrity endorsement’s list and has outshined the brand power of Khans. Ranveer Singh comes in at a close second with a brand value of Rs 84 crore and his wife Deepika Padukone bags the third spot by charging Rs 75 crore to be a brand’s face.

Next in line is Amitabh Bachchan who gets Rs 72 crore for a brand endorsement and at number 5 comes Alia Bhatt from the millennial lot, who demands Rs 68 crore for such a deal. Shah Rukh Khan, who endorses brands such as BYJU’s, Denver, Big Basket, etc, takes Rs 56 crore per an endorsement deal.

Varun Dhawan, at number 7 overthrew Salman Khan, #8 by a margin of Rs 8 crore as the two charge Rs 48 crore and Rs 40 crore to be a brand’s ambassador respectively.

At #9 is Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is the face of brands like Lakme, AirBnB, V.I.P, Vanesa, BBlunt, etc, charges Rs 32 core per an endorsement deal. Finally, at number 10 is Katrina Kaif who signs a brand endorsement deal for Rs 30 crore.

The report further stated that brands were also signing power couples such as Deepveer (Deepika Padukone – Ranveer Singh) and Virushka (Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma) and utilising their real stories into reel ad films.

“Celebrities and fashion have a permanent bond which is not likely to fade away anytime soon. They will remain the fashion icons that Indian youth looks up to,” Vinit Karnik, ESP Properties Business Head told Economic Times, adding, “Sellable content, brands exploring marketing opportunities beyond feature films and new species of celebrity influencers brewing the social space are some of the key trends to look out for.”
