64.04 percent polling in third phase of Lok Sabha elections

Bhopal: As many as 64.04 percent voters cast their votes in 10 Parliamentary constituencies in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh today. This is 10.20 percent more than Lok Sabha elections in year 2009 in these constituencies. Average percentage of polling in the first, second and third phase stands at 60.61, which is 9.44 more than 2009 Lok Sabha elections when 51.17 percent votes were cast.

In today’s voting, 68.31 male and 59.45 female voters exercised their franchise. Maximum 69.85 percent polling was registered in Khandwa and minimum 59.81 percent in Indore. Increase in polling percentage is the result of widespread voter awareness programme.

In the third phase, 64.13 percent polling was registered in Vidisha Parliamentary constituency, 64.75 percentin Dewas (SC), 59.90 in Ujjain (SC), 67.16 percent in Mandsaur, 63.12 percent in Ratlam (ST), 63.98 percent in Dhar (ST), 59.81 in Indore, 67.49 percent in Khargone (ST), 69.85 percent in Khandwa and 60.61 percent polling was registered in Betul (ST).
